My Approach

Collaborative

I believe effective APP education bridges academic rigor with real-world clinical application. My approach combines evidence-based curriculum design, clear competency alignment, and faculty collaboration to create programs that are both sustainable and transformative. Every initiative begins with listening — understanding the needs of learners, faculty, and institutions — and ends with measurable outcomes that strengthen patient care.

Iterative

Education is never static — and neither are the programs I build. Every curriculum, assessment, and training model evolves through continuous feedback and measurable outcomes. By embedding reflection and evaluation into the process, programs remain responsive to learners’ needs and the changing landscape of clinical practice.

Curriculum Design

Development of specialty-specific APP fellowship and residency curricula, incorporating rotation-based and blended learning frameworks aligned with ACGME core competencies. These programs range in duration from 1 to 18 months, with a typical curriculum design turnaround of 4–6 weeks.

SERVICES

Competency-Based Frameworks

Each program is intentionally designed to integrate ACGME-style competencies — patient care, medical knowledge, professionalism, communication, practice-based learning and improvement, and systems-based practice — into every aspect of training. These domains are woven into daily clinical activities, didactic sessions, and evaluations to promote both clinical excellence and reflective practice.

Mentorship Infrastructure

Structured mentorship is a cornerstone of retention and professional development. I support programs in designing mentorship curricula that include practical, ready-to-use discussion guides for mentors and fellows to integrate seamlessly into their ongoing learning and professional growth.

What clients are saying

“As a lead APP in an expanding private practice, it was overwhelming to try to develop a structure from scratch to train APPs in a manner that was both consistent and thorough. Cate was so helpful in guiding the development of a training framework that worked for the particular needs of my practice as well as one that utilized existing resources.  Not having to "re-create the wheel" saved me so much time and stress! I can't thank her enough!  Highly recommend a consultation!”

Kate Lohmann, GI APP Fellowship Program Director Arizona Digestive

“Cate Brady has been absolutely instrumental in helping me create the first Cardiology APP Fellowship in the state of Colorado. From building a comprehensive business plan and budget to engaging key stakeholders, Cate’s expertise and guidance have been invaluable at every step. Beyond her professional acumen, she has served as a trusted sounding board and unwavering source of support. Simply put, this fellowship would not exist without Cate’s dedication, vision, and guidance.”

Kristy Gama, Cardiology APP Fellowship Program Director University of Colorado
